Samantha Sadler, Headstrong Builder of Communities
“If we want to be leaders in this world, we need to understand whom we’re leading.”
Samantha Sadler is passionate about building a community that cares. As a recent transfer student from Sacramento, this general associate is already making waves within Davis Women in Business and the local Davis community. Aside from studying Psychology with a minor in Community Regional Development, Samantha works tirelessly to advocate for DIVE: the Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity Initiative. This movement, promoted by her and another general associate, Evelyn Nguyen, works to help community members understand each other’s differences and how to be inclusive and welcoming.
“I want other women leaders to say, “When I enter the workforce, here are the things I should be mindful of,” Samantha told me. “My ultimate goal is to help women leaders, especially at the CEO level, be mindful of certain biases we carry or have been conditioned to learn.”
Her career goals involve obtaining her license in clinical psychology and possibly a license to practice law. “Whatever I do, I really want to promote wellness and DIVE within communities, businesses, or groups,” Samantha says. She also runs a social media account promoting mental, physical, and spiritual tools to help develop and evolve a person’s mental wellness.
Within DWIB, Samantha enjoys that the club is full of women wanting to support other women. “It’s a tool and a way for us to mentor and guide each other and maybe potentially partner with each other for future projects.” She’s excited to bring DIVE to DWIB through interactive workshops and lectures. “If we want to be leaders in this world, we need to understand whom we’re leading.”
